Some stuff around my house and the added dress...

This tree has grown from about 12 inches tall to about 8 feet tall. I love the lights on it too. The 2 frames were found in junk stores. The art is from my 2 favorite professors in college. The dress I added buttons, and little quail tracks, and the bloomers. Okay that is all...Oh yeah, check out the dangling glass ornaments by the window. Love them!

So I took a stab at making my very first skirt. It is just a simple drawstring skirt. I did it without a pattern. I think I learn alot more when I do that. Trial and error I suppose. I am very pleased with it. My favorite is the tree and bird on the lower corner of the skirt. But that was a drag to do, the tree anyway. I also made some matching bloomers to go with the little dress I made with the quails on it. Too cute. Who would of thought that miniature underwear could be so darling... Once again I didn't use a pattern. I think I have developed a minow fear of patterns. I have never used one. So, I am clueless about what to expect. I should probably just dive right in and give it a shot. What else, what else...We had a doctor's appointment yesterday. Everything seems to moving along smoothly. We will find out the sex of the baby in 3 weeks!

the promised pictures...

This was my first attempt for the potholder swap.

But i sent the other "Spring-y" one instead.

Oliver went sledding for the first time!

Happy Valen-Times!

So another Valentines Day has come and gone. We enjoyed our day snowed in together. It was nice. Justin couldn't get to work because of the snow. So, even more time to hang out. I miss those days. I have been working on several little things. I am almost finished with a baby blanket, and a baby dress. Man, I hope I have a girl. I know that is bad. I honestly just hope for good health. But, there is always a but, I want a girl. I watched people plowing their drives. I didn't care if our drive was clear. My theory, let the sun melt it. Come on Summer! My amazing husband bought me a few maternity things for valentine's day. He was so patient. Taking care of Oliver while I endlessly tried things on, and gave up several times. But I did get 2 dresses and a pair of jeans. He makes me so happy. I didn't realize how much love grows over time. Almost 8 years. Only 2 1/2 married. I am still pretty young ya know. I feel like I am 87 years old. I enjoy all things "old." I am addicted to Little House on the Prairie. I love sun tea. I am not your typical 24 year old I guess. I can't wait until we get a house out in the country. Close your eyes and imagine this, after you read it I guess. You drive down a dusty country road and turn down a long lane dotted with those trees with white bark, as the leaves twirl in a frenzied dance around your car. You have the window down and some Simon and Garfunkel on the radio. On the horizon you see a creamy yellow and sage green, 2 story house on a hill. It is loaded with windows. As you drive up, you notice the random animals, goats and a few chickens. The house has an amazing wrap around porch that expands as you go around the backside. When you enter, you are overwhelmed with the scent of hydrangea. Sunlight streams in from all around. The interior has a modern rustic appeal. With oodles of interesting works of art. You can hear the sound of the creek rushing and the faint sound of the kids laughing and splashing. You will find me outside in my studio next to the creek watching the kids and drinking tea while painting some new piece of art. That is my dream. I can't wait. Okay, my hands hurt. I am going to go for now. I will post some pictures like I have been promising for a while. easy cheesy!

Maybe this will work...

Okay I was just endlessly browsing through other blogs, and I noticed that Autum did this a little while back and I thought it was a brilliant idea. So I cheated and copied it. I was thinking...What if we started another swap?! But this will be a little different. We will exchange swap partners and create a little artsy something especially for that person. We all know that we read each others blogs anyway. Don't you love to get a one of a kind from someone new....This is your chance! Collage, Sewing, Knitting...you name it! Just a handsome little something to admire. This is just an idea. If you have any suggestions, let me know. Or if you would actually be interested, let me know. I am kind of throwing this out there. It is just something...

Anyway, enough of that...I spent the day making potholders and using FREEZER paper stencils! Have I mentioned that I love this! I may be in jeopardy of being sued for copyright infringement, for the use of a band logo. But it is just a shirt for Oliver, I am not making any money, just saving money! Yet another great idea picked up from blogs! I can't remember where or else I would give you your just dues. Well, I guess that is about it. I will post some pics tomorrow of the finished pieces! Good Night!

some of my endeavors in the past month or so....

It is amazing that I can get anything accomplished when I have become a host to a little red-headed parasite...in a good way. Well, i must admit that I think my sewing woes may be coming to an end. I purchased a rotary cutter today. I want to kiss whoever invented this thing. In 30 minutes I cut enough fabric to make at least 5 purses. And my hand didn't even hurt! The right tools make the job easier that is for sure. Last night I spent entirely too much time just meandering through different blogs. So much fun though. I was kicking myself this morning. I guess I ought not make the same mistake twice. Tomorrow I must get the laundry done! Must Must! So later tater.

The attack of the fabric!

Well the before shots are in the middle. I messed up the upload. My wonderful husband put together the cabinet for my fabric. And he cleaned the toilets. He is great! Oh and I made a very feeble attempt at a wall pocket. But it gets the job done. Check out Shim and Sons for a much prettier one. Okay, I have got to sleep now.

Oh yeah...

The Bruised Possibility
a proposal, so much anticipation. like a life waiting in an egg. opportunity to be hatched at any moment. we spend days, in our eggs, years. impatiently waiting. tumbling. bruising. a possibility that always existed.
Sometimes I forget that I am an artist. Or supposed to be. I guess life can take over, and you forget that you know how to paint. Anyway, I am starting this blog, my third, in hopes that it will be more satisfactory. So far, so good. This weekend I spent doing some much needed cleaning. My sewing room to be exact. I will be posting before and after photos. Oh yes, you're thinking, this required photographic evidence of your procratination? Well, my dear reader, it did. This room was out of control. You'll agree. Oh forget it. I will post it now just to prove a point. Be right back.
