King Liam is one. Holy cow. Well his birthday went well. I made a "Happy Birthday" banner out of fabric pennants. But I forgot to take a photo of it. I also made him his "ugly" doll. We had to move his party to our house due to rain. It rained on Oliver's first birthday also. It was okay though. He cried when he opened his gifts but not when we sang. He has SO many toys. And now even more. It was a good day, as I remember it. It was on July 18. That was a while ago. He is now pulling himself up and cruisin around on the furniture. He had his first year check-up and shots last week. He does need to go see a cardiologist from Riley Children's Hospital and another specialist next week on the 21st. So, prayers are welcomed and appreciated. He was born with a heart murmur. No biggie. Justin had one as a kid and he never had any issues. Well, at his check-up, Dr. Miller said that the murmur sounded more irregular and she thought he had a "leaky valve". Whatever that means. And he will need surgery for a private matter. But that shouldn't be too big of a deal. I am not too flipped out about this whole thing. I know that God is bigger than this. I trust that the Lord has it under control. But a little prayer never hurt. I sure do love that baby "miam" (as Oliver calls him).

boom
I am alive. We had an interesting event on July 6. We got struck by lighting. Not just struck, but like hit the tree in front of your house and blow grass and mud all over our car and knock stuff off of the walls and blow out our Direct tv and obliterate my computer struck. But now, I have a new Dell Studio Laptop in Spring Green. I have lots to update... Liam's first birthday, and many new sewing endeavors. I suppose I will be back, I have so much to catch up on.

kimono
I made this sweet little kimono and pants. I used Creature of Habit tutorial. It went together really easily. I was shocked. I think he likes it. Although, as he clearly displayed in the last photo, he was done with the camera and just wanted Momma to rock him.

Main-moe

There was an awesome rainbow outside the other day. Justin and I took the boys outside (I toted my camera of course.) We were explaining to Oliver why God made the rainbow. We told him how God gave us the rainbow as a promise not to flood the world ever again. We explained that God had to flood the whole world, plants, animals, and people had to die, because the people were so mean and nasty. Oliver listened and then he told God "Tank-ooo for da main-moe God." Fast forward to yesterday. We are getting home from the laundromat. (No fun, in case you were curious.) Oliver walks out into the front yard. He is just walking around while we are trying to haul everything into the house. I hear him as I walk past to take in the clean clothes. "Hi God." He says as he is looking up as far as he can without falling over. I could have melted. These are the moments that I never want to forget.

When did he grow so fast?
Man, Oliver is hilarious. The boys are in the tub and I give Oliver his toothbrush.
Me: "Oliver, brush your teeth."
Oliver: "Whan too-paate Momma. Peeaas."
Me: "Okay, here ya go. Say thank you Momma." (Put toothpaste on his toothbrush.)
Oliver: "Tank-ooo Momma."
[Liam starts whining, wanting Oliver's toothbrush.]
Me: " Liam, you want a toothbrush too?" (Give Liam Justin's toothbrush.)
Oliver: "Miam whan too-paate too Momma."
Me: "No bud, Liam is too little for toothpaste. He can't have any."
Oliver: "Ollvr got toopaate, Momma."
Me: "Yes, well you are a big boy, Oliver and Liam is still too little."
Oliver: "No Momma, Ollvr a man."
Me: (Looking astonished and covered in water...) "Well then, excuse me. Oliver is a man."
